Satellite Internet Solutions has made a commitment to provide Government agencies with the communications and interoperability equipment that is so important to successful operations. It is our belief that along with proper training and proper equipment, reliable communications is one of the three most important factors in your operation being a success or a failure.
We understand the needs of Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue, Homeland Security, FEMA, and other agencies are very different from the average consumer. When a typical business loses its ability to communicate, it might lose a few hundred or few thousand dollars. When you lose communications, people can lose their lives. We feel that your lives and the lives of those you serve are too valuable not to have the communications equipment and service that you need.
With that in mind, when we work with different agencies and organizations, we spend a great deal of time making sure that what we recommend is adequate, not only for your current need, but also for your future growth. Satellite Internet Solutions backs up our communications packages for Government agencies with a guaranteed response time for on-site back-up equipment. We are registered with the CCR and ready to respond to your RFP's and RFQ's.
In addition to the equipment listed below, Satellite Internet Solutions has developed relationships with numerous other organizations providing interoperability equipment, BGAN equipment, VoIP services, and more. If you have a communications and interoperability need, we can provide you with whatever equipment is necessary to meet that need.

Satellite-Based Communications
Benefits: Satellite-based communications provides reliable service, anywhere. Whether you are in the plains of Kansas, the deserts of the Southwest, or high in the mountains, as long as you can see the southern sky, you can have high-speed internet and communications anywhere. Satellite offers the potential of any bandwidth package you could need, with speeds up to 9Mbps/4Mbps available. With the proper equipment and bandwidth, satellite will support numerous users, making it ideal for mobile command centers. Also, satellite frees you from reliance on the local infrastructure. In times of natural or man-made disaster, satellite is available when other forms of communications are gone. Satellite is also a mobile solution. Fly-away systems and vehicle-mounted systems make the best use of equipment as they can be deployed to any location instantly. There are a number of advantages to satellite-based internet. To learn more, the Satellite Industry Association has produced a First Responders Guide to Satellite Communications. You can download that guide here. ![]() MotoSAT G75

Cellular-Based Communications
Benefits:
Cellular-based communications have the benefit of being extremely mobile, offer in-motion use, and are overall less expensive than satellite-based service. Many times, critical information can be obtained while in-route, and cellular-based EVDO modems make this easy. While there are areas where cellular service is unavailable, as a general rule you can expect to have at least 1xRTT (dial-up speed) pretty much anywhere and EVDO Rev0 and RevA markets are expanding everyday offering up to 1.5Mbps/400Kbps speeds. Due to the economical nature of cellular-based service, many agencies that currently have satellite-based service are opting to support that service with an EVDO modem. This provides a level of redundancy and can lessen the load placed on the satellite service.
